Is This Normal?
The chaos that is the KerbersArchive for snow
What? Snow???
You heard me people…it snowed last night! I couldn’t believe it when I woke up this morning. Ben was all excited that he got to wear his boots again, but I was not thrilled. I actually am one of the few people I know who is happy when we get a good snowfall, but come on, already! Its April for goodness sakes! Its spring! We are all ready for some consistent nice weather around here. These teaser days are just about enough to get us all very frustrated. And the kids…well they really need some serious ‘run around outside’ time. NOW.
Ok, that’s all. I’m done. Thank goodness it’s melting as I type. If its still there tomorrow, I may go postal on someone.
Snow day
Well, the snow actually came this time, just like the weather man predicted. We’re home on a snow day and it’s really nice. We’re actually doing a whole lotta nothing except playing (the kids with their toys and Mommy on the ‘puter) and reading books (all of us together). Sadly, though, with temperatures barely getting out of the single digits both yesterday and today, it’s too cold to be outside. All Ben has wanted to do for the last month or so is to build a snowman. We finally have enough snow to do it, but it’s so cold out that the kids can’t be out very long and the snow won’t stick together well. Try explaining that to a 3 yr. old. When I told him the snow wouldn’t stick together, he said, “What does stick together mean?” When I tried to explain that, he said, “We just need the thermometer to turn to red and he will melt a little bit!” We’ve been watching a lot of Frosty the Snowman around here.
I know that when May comes I won’t be happy about today’s little vacation, but it sure is fun right now! Happy Snow Day, everyone!!
Snow…woo hoo!
It’s December 1st and we have 6 inches of snow on the ground! What a way to kick off the holiday season, even if our tree isn’t up and our house isn’t decorated yet. Last evening when we got home from Sycamore, Emma sat on the toybox just looking out the window and pointing at things out there for a long time. And Ben was soooo excited this morning when we pulled out of the garage. He said to me, “Oh Mommy, there is ‘no everywhere! ” (He often doesn’t say the ’s’ sound at the beginning of words). It’s a really heavy, slushy snow, too, so the trees are just beautiful. Now if we can just find time to get out and build a snowman. That’s all he really wants to do.
