Is This Normal?
The chaos that is the Kerbers02–February 2009
Sunday, Feb. 1
Super Bowl Sunday. Ben told us that when he gets big he’s going to play in the Super Bowl and we can come watch. It’s so awesome to see things through his innocent eyes.
Monday, Feb. 2
Emma discovered the wonder of stickers. Santa brought them to her, but we didn’t get them out until tonight. She and Daddy had a big time sticking them all down in just the right place.
Tuesday, Feb. 3
Our little big girl finally has enough hair to get into piggies! They weren’t too even and a lot of hair fell out, but it’s official…she is a girlie girl.
Wednesday, Feb. 4
Bedtime routine is such a big part of our day. Ben tries his best to brush well. We’ll see how well he’s done when we go to his first dentist’s appointment soon.
Thursday, Feb. 5
Ben
was so excited that I made brownies. Either we are totally depriving him of common treats, or he really knows how to enjoy the simple things.
Friday, Feb. 6
A new TV for the family room was a bit of a splurge for us, but it’s really awesome!! If you don’t have HD, I highly recommend it.
Saturday, Feb. 7
Saturday is grocery day…and if I’m lucky, I get going before 8:00 a.m. Wally World is awesome at that time!
Sunday, Feb. 8
Warm weather hit…and it was great to get outside. All the vehichles needed a spring tune up, and Ben took care of that.
Monday, Feb. 9
Grandpa came to visit and we all loved seeing him…and snuggling up with him on couch.
Tuesday, Feb. 10
More warm weather (it was almost 60° out today!) so we got to play outside after school again. What fun we had!
Wednesday, Feb. 11
I went to a Pampered Chef party at Caroline & Elizabeth’s house tonight. Such fun girlfriend time!
Thursday, Feb. 12
Ben had his Valentine’s Day party at preschool. He and Ali just love their Big Kid Buddy Jamale.
Friday, Feb. 13
The first Valentines. We went through Ben’s bag from preschool to find an overwhelming booty. It’s the beginning of our school friends and traditions.
Saturday, Feb. 14
We got to see Brett play basketball in Sycamore today. It was so nice to feel like part of their everyday life again.
Sunday, Feb. 15
The visit to Sycamore continued with an afternoon of playing at Grandma & Grandpa’s house with the Swartzies.
Monday, Feb. 16
Ben had his first dental appointment today. He was very excited to go, and he was very brave…especially during the cleaning. I was so proud.
Tuesday, Feb. 17
Emma loves to help. Now if we can just get her to understand that once she’s done, it’s done. After all the grapes were put away, she was NOT happy!
Wednesday, Feb. 18
Ben wanted to work on his “homework” when we got home from school today. Let’s hope those habits continue when he gets some of the real thing.
Thursday, Feb. 19
Emma just started brushing her teeth at night before bed. She thinks she is really big stuff just like her brother.
Friday, Feb. 20
Every night Ben picks something to put at the bottom of the steps to wait for him. Tonight it was his rocketship that he made in preschool.
Saturday, Feb. 21
Ben lines up his cars a lot, but this was the mother of all lineups. The boy is nothing if not meticulous.
Sunday, Feb. 22
It’s Oscar night, which always means deep dish pizza and junk food. It’s not the same without Nancy, but I try.
Monday, Feb. 23
Ben got glow sticks as a Valentine, and tonight we cracked them open. What fun we had in the dark twirling them.
Tuesday, Feb. 24
How can you get after her when she looks this sweet getting into things? She cranked so much that if I would have had some cream she could have easily made butter.
Wednesday, Feb. 25
Another hint of spring hit today, and we had a chance to play outside both before and after dinner. Spring is close…and can’t come soon enough.
Thursday, Feb. 26
Books…as always the kids surround themselves with them. I love, though, that Ben is reading a princess book while Ems has the Cars one. Classic.
Friday, Feb. 27
Tonight’s Friday night movie was Madagascar 2. It’s new…just recently released on DVD, and we are all obsessed with it right now. It’s crack-a-lackin’!!
Saturday, Feb. 28
Grocery day, and Emma helped Daddy put some of them away. Of course, she spent a lot of the time taking out snacks she wanted, but it was the thought that counted!
